The rootstocks obtained by in vitro methods resulted in a higher percentage of plants. The percentage of grafted plants was higher when 'Pi-ku 1' or 'Gisela 5' rootstocks were used, even though the height of the plants was reduced.

The results of comparative experiments conducted on self-fertile 'Lapins' sweet cherry trees reveal that the rootstocks Gi 154/7 and Gisela 4 resulted in the highest yield per tree and yield efficiency, especially in terms of producing fruit weighing approximately 7 grammes.

Among five cultivars tested, 'Gisela 12' and 'Colt' were the most sensitive and tolerant to waterlogging, respectively. The results showed that oxygenation successfully mitigated the effects of waterlogging stress on cherry rootstocks.
