A recent independent study commissioned by Driscoll's reveals that seven out of the top 10 performing cherry varieties are from Britain.

Research conducted by Driscoll's shows that 91% of UK consumers prefer to purchase cherries grown in Great Britain over imported alternatives.

According to the global berry supplier, a milder and wetter winter has resulted in an earlier cherry season than usual in the UK. British cherries have hit major supermarkets two weeks ahead of their typical seasonal window.

The independent study also highlighted that seven of the top 10 cherry varieties performing well in the market are British, prized for their exceptional flavor and size. Furthermore, 89% of UK cherry consumers prioritize taste and freshness when purchasing.

Driscoll's, a leader in fresh berries and cherries globally, found that supporting British growers is important for 76% of UK cherry consumers.

Driscoll's sources its British cherries from Berry Gardens Growers, with orchards spread across various regions including Herefordshire, Kent, Kincardineshire, Norfolk, Perthshire, Staffordshire, and Worcestershire. Jon Hillary, Driscoll's Cherry Product Manager, remarked, "Favorable weather conditions this year have allowed us to bring British consumers delicious British cherries earlier than expected.

"We're thrilled to offer British fresh cherries for the second year running as part of our portfolio. Our commitment to quality and freshness is evident in every batch, and we're excited for customers and consumers to enjoy them throughout the season.
