Retail prices for cherries in Switzerland are up 18% compared to last year

In July, organic cherries in Switzerland reached an average price of CHF 17.45/kg in the traditional retail trade (excluding discounters). 

According to the September 2023 Bio market data of the Federal Office for Agriculture (FOAG), the price of organic cherries increased by 18% compared to the same month of the previous year and decreased by 7% compared to July 2021.

Sales volumes of the entire Swiss retail trade amounted to 115.2 tonnes. Sales in July were thus higher than in the previous two years (July 2022: 101.9 t, July 2021: 114.7 t).
