It is important that frost control begins on the very day of dormancy breaker application (hydrogen cyanamide or bud homogenizer), regardless of the protection system used.

Without a doubt, one of the main factors influencing frost damage is how well the plants have entered their winter rest: it is essential that the structures have completed tissue lignification by the time dormancy begins.
