In the first five months of 2026, Uzbekistan exported approximately 16,800 tonnes of sweet cherries to 11 international markets, generating a total value of $36.5 million (approximately €32.0 million).
This was reported by the Dunyo IA news agency, based on data released by the National Statistics Committee.

Volumes decline compared with 2025
Between January and May 2026, Uzbekistan’s cherry shipments recorded a decline compared with the same period of the previous year. Export volumes fell by 4,100 tonnes compared with the first five months of 2025.
Despite this decrease, the cherry supply chain continues to represent a significant component of Uzbekistan’s fruit and vegetable exports, driven primarily by demand from neighbouring countries and the main Eurasian markets.
Russia accounts for almost 70% of exports
Russia remains the leading destination for Uzbek sweet cherries. During the period under review, it received 11,700 tonnes of produce, equivalent to almost 70% of the country’s total exports.
Kyrgyzstan ranked second, with 2,600 tonnes, followed by Kazakhstan, which received 2,000 tonnes.
Smaller volumes were shipped to Belarus, with 135.3 tonnes, and the United Arab Emirates, with 116.7 tonnes. The remaining destinations received a combined total of approximately 140 tonnes of cherries.
More markets to strengthen Uzbekistan’s international presence
According to analysts, fresh produce exports remain one of the most dynamic segments of Uzbekistan’s foreign trade. Expanding the network of destinations could help consolidate the presence of the country’s agricultural products in international markets.
For the cherry sector, the future will therefore depend not only on the ability to maintain volumes in traditional markets, but also on the gradual diversification of trade routes.
Its presence in 11 countries already demonstrates a diversified international base on which Uzbekistan can continue to build the positioning of its fruit and vegetable offering.
