The new cherry quality software for Cherryscan G7 is a further step forward in the democratization of quality systems management. In this article, Revista Mercado interviews María Cabello, head of marketing and communication at MAF Roda.

What does the new cherry quality software offer growers?

The new cherry quality software for Cherryscan G7 aims to make daily operations much simpler for operators. It has a much more streamlined and intuitive interface and new features that offer the operator a much simpler interaction with the machine, without compromising system accuracy.

How much progress have you made in optimizing plant management parameters?

The great advantage of this new interface is the ability to control the quality system from a single screen. The different parameters and features are presented in a very visual way, so the operator can quickly identify each defect and the results it offers.

Adjusting these defects can be as simple as clicking a plus or minus to increase or decrease the sensitivity of detecting each defect. Furthermore, before accepting these parameter changes, the program offers an estimate of the results that will be obtained by applying these changes to the system.

This estimate allows the operator to evaluate whether the changes they intend to make will achieve the desired results before applying them and, if necessary, to correct these adjustments. It provides easy-to-interpret information that gives much more confidence to the operator managing the system.

On the other hand, more experienced users, if they wish, can access more parameters that allow for greater system customization. We can therefore say that this software adapts to the different levels of operator knowledge.

Is this software another step forward in digitalization to optimize the work of these companies?

This software is a further step forward in the democratization of quality systems management. The simplification of the interface makes machine operation much more user-friendly.

With this new interface, an operator can work with the machine after just a few hours of training. It is a much more intuitive new version. Additionally, the result is a system completely adapted to the work context, that is, to very short campaigns and a high staff turnover.

Why is it important for companies to be at the forefront of technology?

We believe that, especially in the cherry sector, we are offering a solution with advantages that are not offered by other competitors. We have a patented system that rotates the cherry transversely and allows us to analyze the entire surface of the cherry 100%, including the apical area. If we combine this with the quality system and the new software, we have a very powerful solution on the market that we believe represents a leap in quality.

Do you have any advice for the installation and startup of this software?

The company's approach to projects is always to accompany the client. We are not just machinery sellers, but we offer “turnkey” solutions, which involves an initial study of the client's needs to advise them and offer a personalized solution. Additionally, we always provide initial training to operators so that they can acquire all the necessary knowledge to use the machine.
