Conference on cherry orchards innovation in Verona on 5 March

16 Feb 2024
1077

In Montechia di Crosara, Verona, on 5 March at 8.30 p.m., the spotlight will be on the cherry sector: varietal innovation, cherry orchard management, defence and the market.

The cherry sector is going through a period of great renewal at global level in all components of the production process and marketing.

For the fruit of paradise, a real revolution is underway, supported by markets and consumption, thanks not only to the availability of new, better performing varieties and rootstocks with controlled vigour, but also to the innovations proposed in the management of modern cherry orchards and the defence tools currently available, all with multifunctional approaches aimed at improving the sustainability and quality of cherry production.

Some marketing strategies implemented at national and global level to maximise producers' results and enhance the value of cherry production will also be analysed. A rigorous approach to all supply chain processes allows access to market segments that guarantee better results, more sustainable for producers and a more stable presence on the markets.

All this will be discussed at the conference organised by the Montecchia Cherry Market, with the patronage of the Municipality of Montecchia, the Italian Federation of Agricultural and Forestry Doctors and the Val d'Alpone Cherry Association.
