The cherry is among the most globalized fruit crops in today’s market, thanks to a rapidly expanding consumption: the global cherry market is projected to grow by over 7% annually through 2030, according to Grand View Research data.

Consumption, in particular, is increasing mainly in developing countries that, thanks to improved purchasing power, are gaining access to more premium products.

Alongside this demand growth, cherry cultivation has significantly expanded in new countries that have successfully seized opportunities both in their domestic markets and, above all, in international trade.

In a short time, these new regions have positioned themselves among the world’s top producers, overtaking several historically established cherry-growing nations.
