2015

What are the emerging problems and market needs for cherry production in Italy and the main cherry-growing areas in the world? Which innovative products of natural origin does research make available to agricultural entrepreneurs in order to achieve a high quality product?

These are the questions that will be answered by the International Congress entitled "WHICH BIOSOLUTIONS FOR QUALITY CHERRIES?" on Thursday 9 May within the framework of Macfrut 2024, Rimini - Italy.

In fact, the problems for quality production, also due to climate change and alien species, are increasing, and consumer demands in terms of intrinsic product quality and healthiness requirements are higher.

A first part of the event will be held in which experts in cherry cultivation will describe the emerging needs for defence, nutrition and market for northern and southern Italy, Chile and Turkey.

For northern Italy, Stefano Lugli of SL Fruit Service, one of the leading experts in cherry cultivation at European level, will speak; for southern Italy, Lorenzo Laghezza of Agrimeca, a leader in technical consultancy; for Chile, Carlos José Tapia, director of Avium and expert cherry consultant; and for Turkey, Belit Balci, deputy general manager of Alara Agri Business, a leading company for cherry production and marketing.

In the second part of the event, some of the leading biosolutions production companies will be given the floor to present innovative products for the crop.

The meeting will be moderated by Camillo Gardini, head of Agri 2000 Net, Macfrut's scientific partner for the biosolutions exhibition.
