The white of the blossom once again covers El Valle del Jerte and, together with the visual spectacle of the landscape, expectations are also growing for a season that is opening under encouraging signs.
The PDO Cereza del Jerte is indeed looking with confidence at the start of the new campaign, which, as highlighted, begins “on the right foot”.

Spectacular blossom and outlook
The blossom once again transforms the Jerte area into a major visual and agricultural attraction, marking one of the most representative moments of the cherry season.
In this context, the Protected Designation of Origin Cereza del Jerte is preparing for a campaign that, according to initial expectations, should deliver satisfactory results. PDO forecasts point to 10 million kilos of certified cherries, with an additional 2 to 3 million kilos of picota.
These figures outline an important season for one of the symbolic territories of Spanish cherry production. The start of the campaign is described in positive terms, with an opening that suggests favourable prospects both in terms of production and quality.
The certification estimate announced by the PDO confirms the importance of the local supply chain and the weight that cherries and picota continue to have for the economy of the area.
A campaign that begins
The distinction between the expected volumes for cherries and those forecast for picota also highlights the strategic role of the different product categories protected by the designation.
The atmosphere surrounding the start of the new season is therefore optimistic, driven by the combination of the blossom and the production estimates released by the PDO. Attention now turns to the coming weeks, when expectations will need to translate into concrete results for El Valle del Jerte.
For El Valle del Jerte, the new cherry season still begins on a positive note, combining landscape beauty, territorial identity and confidence in a good campaign.
