According to data from the Australian Trade and Investment Commission, around 20,000 tonnes of cherries are produced annually in Australia for a value of around €129 million. The '23-'24 season saw 4,097 tonnes exported. The growth was 43%.

Cherries were sent to several markets around the world, totalling 413,979 tonnes, with the Far East receiving 388,062 tonnes of Chilean cherries. up 1.5% year-on-year. The United States, Latin America and Europe followed.

After the Chinese New Year, imported cherries gradually disappeared from the Chinese market. The first crop of cherries produced in the Dalian greenhouses has been on the market for some time and the price has remained high, even 1-2 times more expensive than Chilean cherries.

Dongjiang Comprehensive Free Trade Zone reached an agreement with Tianjin Port Group Logistics Co. Ltd. and the Chilean Fruit Exporters Association. Since 16 January, 8,300 tonnes of cherries have arrived at the port of Tianjin to supply the northern markets.
